Youth
Sunday Mornings: Years 7-9 & Years 10-13 (Alternating Weeks) From 11am
Open Door Church has a growing and thriving youth work. Our teens form a brilliant part of our diverse family.
Our youth are split into two groups; years 7-9 and years 10-13. They take it in turns to meet on alternate Sundays during the main service from 11am. Teaching is from the bible, and is designed to be relevant to their stage of life.
We also have a midweek group for years 10-13 called ‘Deeper’. This meets at the youth leader’s house every other week, and involves discussion and study about how we can go deeper in faith together. (As well as lots of fun and food)
About once a month, we have a Youth Social Event; such as bowling, hunt in the dark at Eden Centre, board games café, sports activities and more. These socials usually take place on a Friday evening and are a great opportunity to grow friendships with other youth in the church.
Many of the youth also attend the ‘Newday’ Festival for a whole week each year. We enjoy camping together, listening to excellent bible teachers, having loads of fun and worshipping Jesus together with over 10,000 young people. It’s a fantastic summer highlight that our young people love.
Child Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is our absolute priority. All of our children’s leaders and workers are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding. We operate in line with our comprehensive Child Safeguarding Policy.
